The Mayor of Enschede, Roelof Bleker, has arbitrarily decided that our supporters will not be allowed entry to the UEFA Europa League match FC Twente and Beşiktaş at FC Twente Stadion on 30 January 2025, by citing security concerns that lack legal basis and reality.
We consider this decision of Enschede Mayor Roelof Bleker, who allowed the away team supporters into matches against Union Saint-Gilloise, SS Lazio and Fenerbahçe, towards our club as an unacceptable behavior and obvious discrimination.
Although the host club FC Twente and UEFA conveyed their willingness to discuss the security issue to us and to Mayor Roelof Bleker, who could not provide security in his own city, quickly took the easy way out and ruled that our supporters should not be allowed to the said match with baseless excuses.
The unfair ruling of Mr. Bleker ,that was announced such a late date and without exchanging any views with us, has put our club and supporters in a difficult situation just before a crucial match which carries our qualification hopes.
As Beşiktaş, we would like to inform the public that we will defend the rights of our club and our supporters to the very end. We will also take the necessary steps before the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UEFA to reverse the unlawful decision of Enschede Mayor Roelof Bleker.
Regards,
Beşiktaş JK
