"I started serving this great club as deputy chairman about 12 years ago. I was also the head of the football department for 7 years. During that period, we won the Turkish Super League  championships twice and qualified from the UEFA Champions League group stage undefeated.

After taking a year off, I ran  for the chairmanship of Beşiktaş in 2019 and got elected with 68 percent of the club members’ vote. In 2020-2021 season, which was played during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in Turkiye, I won my first Super League title in football as the chairman of Beşiktaş. The team also captured the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Super Cup that season, winning 3 national trophies in 1 year. Additionally, my administration put the club’s finances in order to make Beşiktaş financially stronger than the previous years.

However, today we are going through a difficult period. I understand the reactions of our fans who are upset over the poor results we’ve been getting in football lately. Just as they are, I am deeply disappointed and truly sorry. I believe, at this time, our club needs  new blood and  new energy. That's why I've decided not to run in the upcoming chairmanship election.

Lastly, I would like to thank those members of our community for giving me the opportunity to experience the happiness and pride of managing Beşiktaş. I wish the new leadership candidates unity, solidarity and success."
