Dear Beşiktaş JK Family,

Four all of us, the 2016 had been a remarkable and unforgettable year during which, along with a number of new sports facilities, we opened our long-awaited football shrine Vodafone Arena and lifted the Turkish Super League Cup in it. Our six-season-long championship drought ended in 2016 as we celebrated the national football title wildly across the country. It was the year in which everyone of us felt proud to be a Beşiktaş supporter.

We were also deeply saddened by the loss our employees Tunç Uncu and Vefa Karakurdu to an inhumane terror attack that took place near the Vodafone Arena in December 2016. To remember them forever, we gave their names to Beşiktaş JK stores at the Vodafone Arena. Your Beşiktaş donated the ticket proceeds from its Turkish Cup match against Kayserispor to the families 44 martyrs who lost their lives in that tragic event. Let it be known to the world that, even though it may cause temporary pain and sorrow, no terrorist act shall prevent this club from moving forward.    

Let’s all hope that the 2017 will bring brotherhood and peace to our country and to the world.
