Beşiktaş Chairman Çebi's Message for May 2023

Dear Beşiktaş Fans,

Beşiktaş Football Academy teams continue to reap the benefits of their hard work by succeeding at all age groups. While our U16s captured the national league title, Beşiktaş U12s went a step further and claimed both their league and the ensuing Super Cup to make it a double. Separately, Beşiktaş U-11 team won the Antalya Kemer Juniour Cup undefeated. I once again congratulate the players as well their coaches and sponsors.

Our efforts to reinforce the Club's women's volleyball team, which have been promoted to the Sultans League as the champions of Division I, continues at full speed. We have appointed Giovanni Caprara, an experienced Italian coach who previously worked in Turkey, to head our women's volleyball team. In order to make a lasting name for ourselves in this top Turkish League, we have already started signing a number of prominent players. On the other hand, Beşiktaş men’s basketball team have shown incredible determination in the closing stages of the league  and avoided relation in their last game. We will need that kind of sprit  in the new season because we are planning to open a brand new page in this department.

Beşiktaş JK aid work intended to help the victims that suffered devastating earthquakes in ten Turkish provinces continues uninterruptedly. On this occasion, instead of sending relief items to the area, your Black Eagles played  two exhibition matches against Azerbaijani side Sabah FC and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, with all proceeds going directly to the earthquake victims.

Again in the month of May, after opening the new headquarters of Beşiktaş Adana Supporters Association, we participated in the charity night organised by the Beşiktaş Supporting Businessmen Association of Adana within the scope of a donation campaign for the earthquake-hit areas.

Regarding the matches against the two teams that withdrew from the League due to earthquake, we want a fair application; we don't want this for ourselves, we want it for everyone. Not only the future matches that are to be played against these must be declared void. The results of their previously played matches should not be taken into account as well. Neither we nor any other team should be given 3 points each for the teams that withdrew from the league. The point we have reached has created a clear victimization. We have already taken our case to the UEFA.

Finally, I would like to draw your attention to the fact  that our coach Şenol Güneş and our footballers continued to make us smile with the good results they received throughout May. I hope that this success will be reflected in the next season, and the matches we will play in Europe as well.
