A product of Beşiktaş JK youth system, Doğan (born 1961 in Gümüşhane, Turkey) played for Beşiktaş JK between 1979 and 1987. The attacking midfielder scored 47 goals for the Black Eagles and made 10 international appearances for the Turkish national team at various age groups. After his retirement, he took up coaching and coached various Turkish clubs which included Malatyaspor, Gençlerbirliği, Konyaspor and Trabzonspor. Malatyaspor qualified for the 2003-04 UEFA Cup under his management.
