Recep Adanır
Biography
Nicknamed “Baba” (Father), the legendary forward Adanır (born 1929 in Ankara) joined Beşiktaş JK from Ankaragücü SK in 1950. With his blistering pace, excellent ball control and a powerful shot, he soon was considered as one of the best players in Turkish football. During his 10-year spell, Adanır won 3 Istanbul League and 3 National League trophies with the Black Eagles. After retiring from active football, he took up coaching and managed Beşiktaş JK for two seasons.
