An explosive and agile striker, Erkuş played for the Black Eagles between 1923 and 1932 with 83 goals in 145 matches. Not only was he a great player, he displayed great sportsmanship as well. Erkuş once helped the ref cancel a given goal by admitting that he actually scored with his hand, a goal which might have sent Beşiktaş JK to the 1930 Istanbul Cup Final.
