Nicknamed “King Kong” for his fast reflexes and great aerial ability, goalkeeper Karpat (born 1921 in Istanbul) joined Beşiktaş JK in 1945 and started 104 matches for the Black Eagles. In 1948-49 league season, he conceded the least goals. After retiring in 1952, he took up various managerial positions at the Club.
