In their second league-phase match of 2026/27 UEFA Europa League, both sides battled for supremacy in middle field during the first half but created very few chances up front. The score was nil-nil at half-time. Launching attacks from all angles, Beşiktaş gained the upper hand at the outset of the second half, and Michael Murillo put them in front 1-0 during a goal-mouth scrimmage. But the home side Hoffenheim recovered quickly and levelled within minutes through Fisnik Asllani. Then Beşiktaş’ South Korean star Hyeongyu Oh stepped into the centre stage and produced two classy goals to make it 3-1 for the soaring Black Eagles. Koki Machida pulled one back for the hosts with a header in the closing minutes, but it would not prevent Beşiktaş from picking up all three points.
