The Black Eagles started out their away Turkish Group C match with line-up made up of mostly reserves. They struggled to get their offense going throughout the game and were down 1-0 at the break, thanks to a 44th-minute goal from Osman. The home side made it 2-0 through Recep at the outset of the second half to pick up all three points. Despite the loss, Beşiktaş remained in first place.
