Pinning Partizan into their own half right from the kickoff, the Black Eagles created a flurry of chances in the first half but could not break the impasse. Nevertheless, Demba Ba would finally put Beşiktaş on top 1-0 in the 57th minute with a superbly taken penalty that sent the Serbian team’s goalkeeper the wrong way. The Senegalese striker doubled Beşiktaş’ lead five minutes later after burying home Gökhan Töre’s neat pass from just inside the box during a breakaway. The visitors pulled one back through Markovic on 77 minutes, and Beşiktaş survived late scares in the closing minutes to run out 2-1 winners.
