After a slow start, the Eagles gained control thanks to a series of corner-kicks, but it would be the visitors who would draw the first blood. With 24 minutes gone, Moussa Sow drove the ball into the box from the left side un-marked and fired it home past goalkeper Tolga Zengin that put league leaders Fenerbahçe up 1-0. The Eagles shook off the shock quickly and began to push for the equaliser. Their pressure paid off one minute before the break when Ramon Motta brought the sides on levell terms with a low effort that found the bottom left corner of the net.
Beşiktaş opened the second half with the same dominance but lost their superiority after Motta (58`) and sub İsmail Köybaşı (90`) were both sent off with second yellow cards. Forced to pull back, the short-handed Eagles played the remaining minutes in their own half and were more than happy to walk off with a point. With the draw, they are now 2 points ahead of Galatasaray for the second spot., which will book them a free ticket to the Champions League.
