Six goals but no winner in Kadiköy

Fenerbahçe 3-3 Beşiktaş

After dominating the early possessions, the visitors Beşiktaş surged ahead through Olcay Şahan in the 8th minute, only to see Emenike bring the teams back on even terms just 3 minutes later. Things looked brighter for the Eagles when Meireles was sent off for a rough tackle, but Moussa Sow tapped the ball into an empty net following a sudden counter-attack to put the short-handed Fenerbahçe unexpectedly 2-1 infront on 37 minutes. However, recovering their composure quickly, the Eagles regained the lead with two back-to-back goals from Almeida and silenced the home crowd going into the half-time.

With the start of second half, Fenerbahçe piled up the pressure in search of an equaliser, but Beşiktaş keeper Tolga Zengin produced a series of brilliant save to preserve his team’s one-goal advantage  until the later stages. Nevertheless, after Necip Uysal received his second yellow card in the 69th minute, the Eagles stayed back more and struggled to get out of their own box. They eventually paid the price of being too defensive as an 83rd-minute header from Kuyt levelled the scores for good.
