For their first game of the 2013/14 season at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, the Eagles went with a starting line-up of Tolga; Serdar, Escude, Sivok, Ersan; Hutchinson, Veli, Fernandes, Olcay; Dentinho, Mustafa. Backed by 40,000 cheering fans, they pounced on the visitors right from the kickoff but had to wait until the 75th minute for the lead. It was Olcay who managed to break the deadlock as he rifled home Fernandes' splendid pass from the edge of 6-yard box. While Trabzonspor were still reeling from the goal, substitute Gökhan Töre added another with a deflected shot 5 minutes later to secure all three points for Beşiktaş.
