While the Eagles were trying desperately to get back into the game, Batalla added another on 35 minutes and gave Bursaspor an unexpected 2-goal lead at half-time.  Demoralized Beşiktaş failed to be effective in the second half and conceded a third goal in the 65th minute when Ferhat found net from inside the 6-yard box to secure all three points for Bursa. The away defeat put Beşiktaş's Champions League hopes in serious jeopardy.
