Beşiktaş had the better of the play in the first half but failed to stop last season’s hero Aguero from putting City on top just before the break. On 51 minutes, Kompany placed a nice flick over the keeper to cap a counter-attack and double the Premier Division Champions’ lead. Eagles pushed hard to get a goal back in the remaining minutes but were unable to find the net as the City came away with a 2-0 win that didn't truly reflect the action on the pitch.
