“I’m still recovering from a groin injury, but I’ll be in better shape by the weekend. I know the expectations from me will be higher this season, but the fans should not have second thoughts because I’ll work hard to live up to them. I respect the decision of Portuguese national team coach for not selecting me to the squad, but they did exceptionally well as you all saw it. We have a younger squad this year, and if we can grow into a unit, we may surprise quite a few of our opponents. One thing is for sure, we will perform better than last season.”
