Biography
Famous for his volley goals, legendary forward Görkey (1913-2004) was a product of Beşiktaş JK youth system and played 20 straight seasons for the Black Eagles, scoring 320 goals of which 99 of them came from volleys. He never took a penalty shot because he considered it to be too easy. He won 22 championship titles with the Black and Whites. Görkey made only one appearance for the Turkish national team because there were only few international matches at his time. After retiring from active football, he coached Beykoz, Adalet, Beşiktaş JK, Vefa, Istanbulspor and Turkish national team. He joined Beşiktaş JK Council in 1960 and served for the Black Eagles until his death.
