Biography
Manuel Fernandes (born 5 February 1986 in Lisbon) spent his early years at Benfica. In 2007, following impressive loan spells at English Premier League teams Portsmouth and Everton, Portuguese midfielder signed for La Liga side Valencia FC, where he played 49 matches. Fernandes made 4 appearances in the Champions League with Valencia in 2010-11 season, before being loaned to Beşiktaş during the winter break. He has 27 appearances with the Portuguese national team at various age groups.
