Beşiktaş Council held its final meeting for 2023 today. Beşiktaş JK Chairman  Hasan Arat, President of Beşiktaş Council President  Tevfik Yamantürk, and  Beşiktaş Supervisory Board Chairman Gökhan Tiryaki attended the meeting.

Beşiktaş Chairman Hasan Arat addressed the members of Beşiktaş Council and said:

"Our club passed a democracy test on December 3, 2023. With 12,157 members coming out to vote, we had the highest election participation in Beşiktaş history. I congratulate all those members who voted. Everyone has seen how democratic and transparent Beşiktaş is that day.

Again for the first time in our history... Perhaps for the first time in the history of Turkish sports... In one election, supporters of the two opposing candidates cheered together. They applauded each other. Beşiktaş was united once more.

From now on, we will take Beşiktaş to a higher level  in every field.  The recovery process is already underway. On the one hand, we will become institutionalized, and on the other hand, we will run towards our goals. Beşiktaş will return to its own culture and philosophy, both in management and on the field.

What we have done in the last 11 days since we assumed office :

For the first time in our history, we have made all sales information available to our fans regarding the sale of match tickets before the derby match we played. We will standardize this application, which has received full marks from our community. We will always be transparent. 

The decision to suspend some of our professional football players has been quite effective. The players in question have also met with us and stated that they will do whatever is necessary to improve. This is what we expect from them. 

As promised, we will strengthen our football team with additional signings during the upcoming winter transfer season. Negotiations for new players continue at full speed. We will make some announcements in near future.  

We watched the post-match attack on referee Halil Umut Meler with great sadness. As a club which fights against  violence in sports, we have condemned this attack quickly.  I would like to convey my best wishes to Meler, his wife and his family.

On Thursday evening, with our young players coming from  Beşiktaş Football Academy , we claimed our first win in the UEFA Conference League this season. We will continue to support our youth system,  so ıt can raise more young talents.  

We have obtained the permission to visit Ataturk at his mausoleum Anıtkabir. On Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., we will be in the presence of Atatürk, the Greatest Beşiktaş Supporter of All Times. We invite all Beşiktaş lovers to this special visit.

As I have always stated, the communication is one of the priorities of our management. With utmost professionalism and  transparency, we have started live broadcasts on YouTube.  Under the management of experienced television personality and sports announcer Mr. Okay Karacan, whom we appointed as the Media and Communication Group Coordinator, we broadcasted live for 2 hours from different locations of our stadium before the derby match against Fenerbahçe. 

Disinformation is a growing concern and threat in sports. Therefore, my request from Besiktas fans, is not to pay attention to what is written without an official statement from the club.

Before the derby match. we presented a plaque of appreciation to our legendary football players Mr. Ricardo Quaresma and Mr. Atiba Hutchinson at the ceremony we held in our stadium.  

We will introduce the 100th anniversary jersey of the Republic very soon. I ask you to wait for the day when the jersey will be introduced. We will share the promotion day with you on our official accounts in the coming days.

I've only told you about the last 11 days. We are actually a 120-year-old community.  Don't lose hope because of the situation we are in football right now. We will restructure Beşiktaş, and the great Besiktas will be reborn soon.  We will work day and night to achieve this goal. 

Dear Beşiktaş fans, after 46 years  I stepped into this great club for the first time, I am delighted  to be here with you today as the Chairman of Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who made it possible for me to experience this unique moment. 

I also want to thank the members of the past administrations for their contributions to the Club.  I hope that the new year will bring new opportunities and luck to Beşiktaş and to our country."
