Late goals sink 10-man Eagles in Kayseri

SAİ Kayseri Erciyesspor 3-2 Beşiktaş

To the delight of the fans at the Kayseri Kadir Has Stadium, both sides attacked each other relentlessly in the first 45 minutes, but due to some brilliant goalkeeping from the two keepers, the deadlock would not be broken in the first half.

Beşiktaş appeared to have lost their offensive rhythm after the restart and John Boye took advantage of it on 54 minutes with a header off Anıl Karaer’s free-kick that put the Erciyesspor in front 1-0. Things looked even gloomier for Beşiktaş when Gökhan Töre was sent off in the 67th minute, but the shorthanded Black Eagles refused to surrender as they battled vigorously for the equaliser. Their pressure paid off handsomely after 70 minutes when substitute Kerim Frei, who had replaced injured Olcay Şahan in the first half, found the bottom corner of the net with low effort from inside box and levelled the matters at 1-1. Five minutes before the full-time, he seized upon a rebound from the home side’s goalkeeper to make it 2-1 for Beşiktaş, but late goals from Edinho and Cenk Ahmet Alkılıç gave the Erciyesspor all three points.
