Fresh remarks from Carvalhal

Beşiktaş’s caretaker coach Carlos Carvalhal, who will manage the Black Eagles until Tayfur Havutçu is back, held a press conference after his first practice with the team.

“I am extremely pleased to be part of a world-class team, which has high goals to achieve. I met Mr. Tayfur Havutçu in Austria during his team’s pre-season training camp. I must admit I was quite impressed by his vision. He asked me to be a member of his scouting staff, and I agreed. But the recent events as your all familiar with brought me to be this position. I’ll be in charge of the team temporarily, and when  he gets back, I’ll assume my responsibilities at the scouting department.
After watching the games against Atletico Madrid and Granda, I can say that we are in fairly good shape physically. But we need to play more games because playing matches help you develop faster than constant training. I’d like that this club to higher places just like Mr. Havutçu would do,” said the experienced Portuguese coach.
