Beşiktaş men’s handball team defeated İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi 35-26 in their best-of-three Turkish Super League finals opener at Izmir Celal Atik Sports Hall tonight.

The Eagles led 14-11 at half time and  never looked back in the second half en route to a comfortable 35-26 win. The second match will take place at the BJK Süleyman Seba Sports Hall on Saturday, May 12 at 19:00. In case of a Beşiktaş loss, the teams will face each other once again at the same venue on Tuesday, May 17 to decide this season’s league champion.
