Beşiktaş Wheelchair Basketball Coach Mehmet Önüt is eyeing the Andre Vergauwen Cup, which will take place in Istanbul through April  22-24.

“First of all, we are proud to play host to  the Europe’s second most prestigious tournament in wheelchair basketball. Last season, we came second, but this time, we want to take the Cup at our home court. I know it’s not going to be easy, and we don’t have much information about our opponents but we’ll give everything we’ve got out there. We’ll fight it out against formidable teams from six different nations and hope our team can go all the way,” said the coach.      
Team’s second captain Aytaç Ercan claimed his side was in top form and added, “Our intention to organize this tournament in Istanbul shows that we are determined not to let the Cup slip away this time. If we can make a good start, the rest will come easy. We are a fighting team and don’t give up until the final buzzer. I hope our fans will come out to support us because we will need their backing.”
