Panküp Kayseri Şeker 80, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 66

Visiting Panküp Kayseri Şeker knocked Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball out of the playoffs with a 80-66 win at the Arena.

The Lady Eagles started the Game 3 with a lineup of Nilay Kartaltepe, Yasemin Horasan, Sales, Marques and Santos and trailed 12-11 midway through the opening quarter. The visitors rode the scoring of Sanford and Bahar Öztürk to push that lead to 22-17 by the end of first. They continued to keep the game under control in the second quarter as the margin grew to 14 points at the halfway point. Nevertheless, before going into the locker room at the intermission, Yasemin Horasan managed to wake Beşiktaş Cola Turka up with a couple of late layups to bring the deficit down to 9 points, 44-35.
At the outset of second half, the Kayseri Şeker Ladies took advantage of the Black and Whites’ persistent poor shooting and some uncharacteristic defensive lapses as their lead quickly swelled to 20 points at 59- 39. Sales tried to trim the deficit with shots behind the arch, but undeterred visitors kept on rolling and took a 68-48 cushion into the final stanza. Beşiktaş Cola Turka started the fourth well, relying heavily on the scoring of bench players Tuğba Taşçı and Salkauske, but the gap was to large to overcome as Panküp Kayseri Şeker walked off the court with a surprisingly easy 80-66 victory.
The win gave the visitors a 3-1 series lead and advanced them into semifinals, while the Lady Eagles suspended their hopes until next season.
