Beşiktaş 2- 4 Fenerbahçe

The Black Eagles slumped to a 4-2 defeat at home to Fenerbahçe on Day 22 of the Spor Toto Turkish Super League.

The visitors started livelier and stormed ahead after 4 minutes through a Necip Uysal own goal. Led by Niang, they pressed to double their lead, only to be stopped by goalkeeper Rüştü Reçber. As the game rolled on, Beşiktaş got back into it and managed to level the scores with Ekrem Dağ, who unleashed a bullet into the top left corner one minute before half time. The teams took that one-all draw into the dressing room at the interval.
At the outset of the second half, Ibrahim Toraman hammered home Simao’s deflected free-kick to give Eagles a 2-1 edge. Few minutes later, Almeida had a great chance to further Beşiktaş’s advantage during an all-alone breakaway but couldn’t find the back of the net. From that point on, the match gained tempo as the ball went back and forth across the field. Fenerbahçe won a penalty on 63 minutes when Ferrari brought down Lugano inside the box. While Ferrari got sent off in that position, Alex converted the kick to put the arch-rivals back on level terms once again, 2-2. With the shorthanded Black and White struggling at both ends, Alex headed home Emre’s cross in the 72nd minute to make it 3-2 for the visitors. The Brazilian completed his hat-trick three minutes later as Fenerbahçe ran out 4-2 winners.
