For its Cev Cup quarterfinals opener, Beşiktaş Women’s Volleyball visited Chateau d’Ax Urbino in Italy on Wednesday and came away with a hard-fought 3-1 loss.

Spurred on by a vocal home crowd, Chateau d’Ax Urbino took the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-18 for a 2-0 lead in the game. The Lady Eagles regrouped to win the third set 25-23 that made it 2-1. But the home team managed to capture the hotly-contested set number four, 27-25, and the match 3-1.
The replay will be played at the BJK Akatlar Cola Turka Arena on Thursday, February 10. 
If the teams end up winning one game each, they have to play a 15-point golden set to decide the qualifier for the next round.   
The qualifier will then compete in the Challenge Round to battle against the team coming from the Champions League. Organika Budowlani Lodz of Poland will be Lady Eagles’ next opponent in this round.
