Post Game Evaluations

The Vice President Kıvanç Oktay, Technical Director, Rıza Çalımbay, and goal scorers John Carew and Ahmet Dursun evaluated their win against Ankaragücü. 

The vice President of the Football Branch Kıvanç Oktay said, “First of all, I congratulate our technical staff and all players for such beautiful football and such a big lead. Their football did us proud. Our objective now is to win the Fenerbahçe derby that we will play next week. We consider all of our games as a final. We are willing to win these games and finish the league at the highest place possible”.
Technical Director Rıza Çalımbay noted in the press conference that they were happy to win and had concentrated on the derby game.
“It was a game we ought to have won. We won and are quite happy. In contrast with the Diyarbakır game, we capitalized on the scoring opportunities and achieved a wide lead. We are now concentrating on the Fenerbahçe game. Derby games have three possible outcomes, but we will be fielding to win. I am pleased with my players who competed on the field. All of them performed beyond expectations. Our forward players in particular played very well in this game. Carew and Ahmet Dursun started to show their colors this week. I am confident that they will be better.”
Norwegian goal scorer John Carew who scored 2 goals in the 4-1 win over Ankaragücü and who drew attention with his football stated that he was very happy, adding “As the entire team we performed very well, and out success in converting scoring opportunities into goals brought us such a score. We always start every game with ambition and enthusiasm, but sometimes we cannot capitalize on our intentions on the field. In today’s game we managed to perform as intended. We are very happy with the win”.
Ahmet Dursun who scored Beşiktaş’s second goal in the 37th minute said:
“I think that today we delighted our fans who had come to the stadium to support us. I believe from now on we will let them watch football and scores that do us proud, and win all of our remaining games.”
