Beşiktaş Chess Branch, which had been entitled to participate in Turkey Super Chess League, won 5 and lost one of the first round Super League games, and finished the round at the 2nd place with 10 points. 

The Super League first round games were played at Antalya Tennis Specializing Club between April the 7th and 10th. The player-manager Umut Atakişi was the captain of Beşiktaş which made a good start in the league by winning 5 out of 6 matches. Atakişi stated that he was very happy with the present condition of the team and added “This is our first year with Beşiktaş uniform. We have a young staff. When we began the league, our goal was to be in top three. We lost only one match to Eczacıbaşı. But I am very happy with our current condition. God willing, we will carry our Beşiktaş to even higher places.”
