Beşiktaş cleared another hurdle in their chase for the Super League title tonight as they eased past Kayserispor 4-0 at their new shrine Vodafone Arena. Backed by a packed and noisy home crowd, the Black and Whites immediately set themselves into an attacking fashion and searched for an early goal. The pressure paid off after 10 minutes when Super League’s top scorer Mario Gomez hit the back of the net with a diving header. It was his 24th goal of the season. Then, back-to-back goals from Oğuzhan Özyakup and Ricardo Quaresma gave Beşiktaş a comfortable 3-0 lead for the first half. Sitting on a three-goal cushion, Beşiktaş kept knocking at the visitors’ door on several occasions in the second half and even missed a penalty through Gomez in the 69th-minute, but despite a late Cenk Tosun goal, appeared more interested in running out with all 3 points.
