BASKETBALL

Beşiktaş Milangaz 97, Türk Telekom 88

Marcelus Kemp and Deron Williams lead men’s basketball to its third consecutive win.

A tightly-contested first quarter saw the Black Eagles take a 27-23 lead going into the second. Thanks to a barrage of three-pointers by the Turkish League’s leading scorer Kemp, they pushed to the margin into double-digits midway through the following quarter to go up, 54-38, at the half.

Turk Telekom clawed its way back into the game in the third stanza, on back-to-back layups by Mehmet Okur, but the hot-shooting duo of Semih Erden and Deron Williams made sure that the Black Eagles stayed in front after three quarters, en route to a well-deserved 97-88 victory.

Kemp led Beşiktaş Milangaz with 25 points while Williams chipped in 23 and Semih Erden had 15.
