February 2017 Dear Beşiktaş JK Family,
As a sports club who always uphold the values of hard work, integrity and merit, we are not interested in dubious and questionable achievements. Instead, with your continued support, we want to repeat the last season’s success by winning the Turkish national football title for the second time in a row through fair -play, honesty, sportsmanship and hard-earned reward.
As you all know, since the club’s inception in 1903, Beşiktaş JK have always been a main contributor to the development of Turkish sports. Within this concept, I congratulate Beşiktaş Sompo Japan’s Head Coach Ufuk Sarıca, RMK Marine Wheelchair Basketball’s Head Coach Tacettin Çıpa and Beşiktaş Mogaz HT’s Assistant Coach İlker Şentürk for being appointed to lead the Turkish national teams in their respective fields. Their success will be ours as well.
In the meantime, my administration is sparing no effort to help improve Beşiktaş’ finances. Moving our offices, which were located at different parts of Istanbul, into the Vodafone Arena has cut our rental expenses significantly. The number of Beşiktaş JK stores operating inside Turkey have risen to nearly one hundred. Due to our teams’ recent achievements, most of them have been reporting substantial increases in sales of our official merhandise. Keep in mind that the planned Beşiktaş University, which you will hear more about in the near future, is going to provide another valuable source of income for the club. When we eventually step down the office, we hope to leave a financially strong and fully institutionalised Beşiktaş behind.
With this opportunity, I would like to offer my condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Gençlerbirliği SK President İlhan Cavcav, who will always be missed by the Turkish sports community.
My best wishes to you all.
Chairman Beşiktaş JK
